A modified, but street legal Porsche 996 GT2 smashed the Nurburgring lap record with a 7:15 lap. What's more impressive is that it beat the two previous record holders which were lightweight cars not really considered production cars (Turbocharged Radical SR3 and a Donkervoort RS).
