Excellent advice, Chuck. For the OP, go to this forum's archives and follow the pictorial overhaul that Kirk Evans did a year or so ago for a customer. It was truly hard to believe that ZF could propel a Pantera down the road without exploding into shrapnel! Hopefully yours is in better shape. Kirk said this usually comes about from a failure to change ZF lube at least once a year. Some ZFs still have 45-year-old OEM lube in them!
