Reply to "oil bypass to rear of block"

OK. This thing is a recreation of what racers used in the '70s when the 351C was new. It works, but I don't recommend running oil lines around external to an engine, simply because of the potential for total engine loss if the line is damaged by snagging on road debris or touches an exhaust header, etc. Anyone who is familiar with motorcycles from the '60s knows what I mean. This mod was designed to cope with very high rpms and high horsepower, more so than one normally runs on the street. There's a good description of it, with photos in Pat Ganahl's book on Ford engines.
