Oil pressure

Just picked up a Pantwetter yesterday and the oil pressure was fine for most of the journey, running around 50lbs...

The last leg of the journey it shot up to alomst 70lb, and I started it today and again it has gone up to nearly 70lb.

I have checked the oil - level is fine, and it had an oil change recently.

Seing as I have literraly just got this car and so am not familiar with it's little foibles, but the previous owner told me it usually ran at about 55lbs ish.

It is quite hot here at present, but I am sure it is not as hot as it can be in the States or elsewhere, so I don't think that is an issue.

So, what do most of you guys have oil pressure running at??

And if you think this is too high what do you think it could be?

filter needs changing.. dodgy gauge..

Or am I being paranoid????
