Oil Weight

Do any of you have experiences with the oil weight in the C?
This is the only engine I can recall that ever had a 20-50 weight recommended by the factory for it.
I have noticed that the current production 5.0's have a recommended weight of 5-30.
I was wondering what your opinions were?
