I don't see what's so hard to grasp ? that the gerotor is likely cavitating to an acceptable degree near intended redline, and is cavitating more beyond intended redline. push it farther & you start losing the bottom end... proven
same concept in the water pump, spin it too fast and the engine temp rises... it's not because the coolant

is moving too fast to remove the heat, it because the impeller is cavitating & there isn't as much coolant moving as there was at 1/2 the rpm with maybe an acceptable amount of cavitation
