'Old School' or 'Back to '67'

...Fuel Injection Gives you More HorsePower! But Carburation Gives You More Torque! I bet That will start a 'Great Debate'. Torque Pushes Your Pantera down the road, with X amount of 'Force' over a specific Length, Arm; and HorsePower is The 'Time' it takes the Engine to Rev to that point! For Our Precious Machines we Have I.R. and all kinds of 'Multi Port' Fuel Injection. We have Webbers, We have single 4 Barrels of all types on all kinds of Intake manifolds. And ofcorse, NoS, Turbos, and Super Charging! I'am sure I left out two or three, But one of them, My personal favorite, is Dual Quad, 2X4's, Twin Holleys, 8V's! Now I know Most all fuel injection is the best! Convenient, smooth, accurate! and gas efficient/saving. I can't help that I grew up in the time when they were selling this 'Set-up' off the showroom floors, on all makes of Big Blocks and Some SmallBlocks(I'am guessing). And since the Great Ford 427 came stock with Twin 4 Barrels, lets just see what a Dual Quad HighRise can do for a built-over Boss 351 Cleveland! The only dual quad manifold that will mate to the 351C is the Weiand Tunnel Ram, but it sits the carbs way too high for a street driven Pantera! My solution was to 'Discard' the top adapter, and Machine custom Mounting plates out og .625" Aluminum Alloy Plate; and then Mill/Grind/Polish/Blend the 8 ports. This lowers the carbs 2.5" from the Normal 'Tunnel Ram' height. This also lowers the power band, to a degree; how much? We are soon going to find out! And the closer the carb 'butterflies' are placed to the 'source' of the Vacuum signal; the Intake Valves, the greater will be the 'Throttle response'! I have had a lot of experience with holley Carburetors, and of running 2X4's on the street. The manifold and two 600 cfm carbs were purchased all separately, on eBay. The Machining was done in My Shop. Enjoy the pictures that follow, and remember this is Experimental and can be exchanged Back to a single 4 Barrel by undoing 12 Bolts, the Accelerator Linkage, Fuel line and some Vacuum hoses! I love these 'Dry' manifolds!!...
