Reply to "OUTSIDE AIR VENTS??"

I added a 'fresh-air' feature to our '72 L Pantera. I bored two 2-1/2" dia holes in the cown, after removing the wiper grilles. If you measure VERY carefully, the holes will allow a pair of metal extensions fitted with brass sweat-solder 90 degree fittings pressed on, to drop down below the dash & clear everything. Air is direced at both driver & passenger. The extra ram-airflow is not a howling gale but does help ventillate the cabin. 2-1/2" is the largest hole saw that will clear the edges of the cowl opening. I made throttle valves to regulate airflow. The stock setup for 74-up cars used a 3" hole behind the glove box and a flex hose to attach it to the heater box. The late box has different controls to allow the fan to suck outside air & blow it out the heater vents in the dash. Too expensive for me, plus there's no access to the area where the 3" hole is cut with the right fender welded on. Take a look at Byron Hight's '75 Euro sometime at a Nor-Cal meeting.
