I don't know if this product is over there, but here we can buy a 'sock' this goes over a raditer hose and catches all the debris in the cooling system. It is scary what it catches.
It could be there is a piece of something blocking a hose ?? and then passing through ?
Just a thought, if the timing gets retarded for whatever reason the engine temp will climb.
