With some cars, where the exhaust is routed, makes a difference. The mufflers & connected exhaust pipes can be moved around a bit, so if you have yours shoved as far up as poosible, you may have to fabricate some sort of shiny heat shield. And if you like to put the hammer down, that has its own problems. On the back pg ofa recent POCA newsletter, there was a recent photo of a Gt-5 with MELTED tailight lenses after running the Silver State (a 92-mile long flat-to-the-floor event). Apparently the upturned exhaust tips were just too close to the plastic...
