Reply to "Pantera 200"

The last Si that sold was a white Australian car that had been factory converted to RHD by its owner around 1996. It came up for sale last year, being one of only two RHD cars I was very interested in it but it sold before I could arrange for someone to view the car(I am in Ireland and the car was in Aus.)It sold for about 100k Euro, a strong price but then again, Aus is RHD also, and this was a rare chance to buy a RHD Si. The only other RHD car is the red twin turbo Pantera 200, owned by Dick Puxty of Emilia UK. This car was laid up for almost a decade, and it is no longer in Dicks possesion. He will not say who now owns the car.
Previous to this a red Swedish Si sold for 75k Euro last summer, again I was prepared to buy this car, but it sold the same day I was booking flights to go and view it. I think the Jotec Si mentioned earlier is a little overpriced, it has been unused for many years and would need to be recommisioned.
As to taking one to the US, Pat Mical in Mass. who has built the Si replica told me that it cannot be done, and once the car lands on US soil it is liable to be seized and crushed.
They are rare and beautiful cars, and I do aspire to own one, but I would be looking at some way of upping the performance, they are quite a bit slower than the original.
