Pantera #6007

Hi all, 2nd post and some history and pictures of Blue #6007.

This rust free time machine was relocated from my Dad's garage in SoCal to mine in Seattle this past February. What started as trip planning to visit him and see the NHRA Pomona Winternational's ended with "bring your trailer". He's a Hot Rod Ford street racer from the late 50's who moved to Porsche's, Pantera's and another rare US/Euro hybrid, Jensen Interceptor III.

His first Pantera was a Yellow L bought new in Downey, CA, (Sachs & Sons iirc) in 1973 for $10k. Getting dropped off for 7th & 8th grade in that car was awesome. Only mod was the rare Peter Revson front air-dam. Sadly a couple years later the car was rear ended by a drunk at 40mph. His head busted the rear glass and neck problems today point to that event. Car was wrecked badly front and rear, repaired and quickly sold... VIN # unknown.

Forward to 1977 he bought an Orange L with balanced and blue printed motor, after market carb & manifold (iirc). I use to sneak that car out at 16 to cruise the boulevard. VIN # unknown but the blue CA license plate was "251 LIC".

#6007 was purchased in February 2002 from Mike Mayberry. Original owner in Woodland Hills had passed away and the car sat for 16 years I was told. March 2002 it was dropped off at Hall Pantera for a full mechanical restoration. Included were upgraded / refreshed suspension with adjustable Coil-Overs, front / rear sways, PBR F/R brake calipers with braided lines, Halls radiator upgrade with new plumping, GT4 front hood vents, "street mini-brute" motor upgrade, ZF refresh, A/C upgrade moving everything from the rear and lots of little things.

Being a long time Porsche racer with SCCA I forgot how bad@ss mildly tuned V8's can be. This car is a fantastic cruiser with gobs of torque and makes all the right noises. Pantera's were a big part of my childhood and now I'm the care taker of this classic beauty. It's a matching #'s car except the engine. Gary Hall said it was a late Ford Motorsports racing block

I've registered the car on Provamo with pictures and Marti Report.
