It really depends on how the car has been taken care of and the environment it has been operated in. My 73 still wears its original paint and while it's not perfect it still looks remarkably good with no cracking or checking.




The biggest challenge is keeping the original paint properly nourished. Over time oxidation occurs and the paint dries out, gets dull, and can eventually crack.

For 28 years I've used Meguiars #7 Mirror Glaze to "feed" my Pantera's paint. #7 contains a very high amount of nourishing oils. It is absolutely amazing what the paint looks like after an application.
