Today I installed chrome tape throughout the tail lamp bucket on the left side of the car.

The illumination improvement was good enough to notice by maybe 5% to 10% better.

The chrome tape did cause the reflected light to spread horizontally across the whole tail lamp lens, rather then the light being just concentrated around the light bulb on the non modified side.

Alas, the change was small enough, that I was unable to pick up any differences with a digital camera. Also, the slightest variation in the position and distance of the camera from the tail light has a huge effect on the resulting picture.
