There has been discussion at the Donut Derelicts that a group called the "The Pantera Society For Preservation And Rescue" should be formed. The goal of the group would be to find every dog (cat) Pantera and take it from the owner under the pet cruelty laws and then nurture the creature back to its original glory. Potential Pantera care givers could apply to the Society to keep a Pantera in their homes but would need to meet very, very strict requirements. The Panteras would only be licensed to the care givers for big $ and weekly inspections of the Panteras would be done by the Society. Any violations and the Panteras would be immediately returned to the Society and the care givers would pay super huge fines. As many performance cars have animal names even the Firebird owners think they could get a group going! Let�s see, Mustang, Cobra, Viper, Tiger, Cougar, Impala, Thunderbird, etc.
Some of us with modified cars have appealed to the purist in the group that some tasteful modifications and modifications that deal with performance issues should be allowed. I�m worried about my Sanden rotary compressor, GT5 hood vents and mirrors, Campy reproduction wheels, engine mods and electrical upgrades. Some of the purist are pretty stuck with the stock de Tomas concept so I�m not sure how it will turn out.
