Reply to "Pantera Preservation And Rescue"

Larry,

The people talking about the Society didnt think it would take a bunch of money to get the program off the ground. Using the pet cruelty laws the Society could seize ANY Pantera in the US that did not meet the Societys standards for Panteras. I expect they would start with the orphan Panteras and then work their way up to the better but abused cars. Suddenly cheap Panteras would disappear and the prices would increase and the Society would take advantage of the pricing with their lease rates to the care givers.

Im just hoping I could be grated a waver of seizure for the small and tasteful (my opinion) modifications that have be done to my cat. Id hate to lose the Pantera after all of the work Ive put into it. You would think the Society would allow Campy reproduction wheels and Z rated tires for safety, electrical upgrades for safety, cooling modifications, some engine modifications and for sure allow rotary A/C compressors. But some of the radical right wing purist are demanding everything must be stock and love the sound of their York compressors.

One thing that I think the Society might be overlooking in their plans is that all of us with modified Panteras would go underground and hoard our Panteras in secret. A black market for the selling of modified Panteras might develop or maybe no one would ever sell their modified cars and just keep them in hiding from the Society.
