Reply to "Pantera Prices."

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the responses, I think I was at an advantage when I was looking for my Pantera because I had already owned one so I knew many of the important questions to ask although I must say buying a Pantera (besides the RUST issue) is very different from buying most other cars the Pantera was ground breaking in it's day in the sense that it was mid engined and had an American engine mated to a German gearbox with Italian electrics many people regarded the engine as not being thoroughbred enough but the gearbox was, the styling being exotic but the electrics very poor, how wrong people were about the engine, it is because of the engine that you guys in the states took the Pantera to heart, you were and are able to greatly improve this part of the car with ease, can you imagine having to rebuild a Ferrari or Lambo that's 40-45 years old and don't forget they also have those infamous Italian electrics, the gearbox although a decent piece of engineering even though it is expensive to rebuild but so are Lambo and Ferrari boxes,and the most important factor is the relative ease of maintenance something NO Lambo or Ferrari can offer but I would like to point out because the prices of Lambo's and Ferrari's have increased significantly this has rippled down to Pantera prices, this now has a two fold effect because the poor Pantera's will now be a viable proposition to restore instead of breaking them for parts as well as making current owners ask for more when selling but I do hope the Pantera owners don't go the same way as the Jaguar owners,let me share this with you guys, I am lucky enough to own an E-Type V12 Roadster as well and as a member of the biggest Jaguar club in the UK I asked for some advice from fellow owners besides one guy I never got one single response, then I realized why, they only had 25,000 members, yes I did say 25,000, how sad is that?
