Who was it that said, "To finish first, first you have to finish."?

I am not sure that the DeT Pantera had anything to give the 360 in the corners. Timing between the two appeared to be close in corners and on short straights. Certainly on the long straights the 360 did not have the legs the DeT had.

I wonder whether driver differences had a role to play here more than the car. The 360 driver appeared to brake deeper in the corners. On some corners his line was wider than the DeT. On the attempted passes in the corners, with an inside line, he cannot hold the position. In the end, possibly his braking made the ass end unweight (what appears to be at turn entry) to the point he spun it. He may have been driving more "on the edge" than the DeT guy. He certaily took advantage of traffic to finally get by the DeTomaso.

In any case ... "To finish first, first you have to finish.".
