Reply to "Pantera sold in Tucson AZ in 1992"

sometimes, if you contact your states department of motor vehicles and give them your dad's info, name, dob, address etc. they can do a search of all vehicles registered to that person. I tried to find my 70 Mach 1 a few years back. I found the original window sticker in my dad's papers and it was complete except for the bottom corner where the VIN was printed. It had torn when the sticker was removed. I even tried calling the original salesman at the dealer. (He had been a friend of my dads) He still worked at the dealership only he explained that the dealership had changed hands a couple of times since 1970 and there had been a fire in the records storage area. He did say that he kept a personal notebook of every car he had ever sold and called me back the next day to say he found the notebook and the entry was "70 yellow Mach1 and the date sold to my dad the price $3500" but no VIN!!! I called motor vehicles in New Jersey and gave them the above info, unfortunately their records didn't go back that far. 10 years might still be in the ballpark in your state. Hope you have better luck than I did.
