What price range are you looking at? Are you buying as an investment or for enjoyment? I think this determines the kind of car you buy. If you're looking for an investment look for a very original car or one which has extremely high quality modifications. I believe the car discussed in the "New guy with Pantera inbound" thread is an example of that. Magnificent car but I'm not sure whoever did the mods was able to recoup all his money but the new buyer might be maybe able to. Most modifications, when done correctly, increase the value and, in some cases, the reliability of the car. These include some electrical, cooling and brake modifications. Radical changes in body work seems to be the biggest detractor of value. Personally, I bought my car with the intention of working on it knowing full well I would most likely not get what I put into it if I ever sold it. The key is to start with a well sorted out car unless you plan on doing the work yourself. Reviewing the buyer's guide is a must. I highly recommend sitting down with an owner, looking at their car and discussing all the in's and out's. You'll get a much better feel for what Pantera ownership is all about.
