The stock exhaust system is relatively quiet compared to all the aftermarket systems the vendors sell. I like quiet. My system is still oem. I'll hate to rip it out & replace it with hi-po stuff. The exhaust system Fred Terry built for his Pantera looks very interesting.

The Pantera "boom" is the exitation of a certain low frequency (2000 rpm = about 66 hz) that is reinforced by the volume of the interior.

The buzz you feel after a long ride is the long term exposure to high sound levels, best thing to do would be to make the exhaust quieter and/or acoustically isolate the interior from the engine compartment.

Cruising at 3000 rpm your are constantly exposed to 100 hz. Our ears are less sensitive to low frequency sound, but our bodies are impacted by low frequencies more so than high frequencies. A crossover between the left & right exhaust systems would double the frequency to 200 hz, a more pleasant frequency for your body to endure.
