Pictures of US Airways flight 1549 being retrieved from the bottom of the Hudson River

On January 16, 2009 US Airways flight 1549 encounter a flock of geese while taking off from La Guardia Airport. Both engines were damaged by the geese. Captain Chelsey Sullenberger maintained control of the AirBus A320 jet liner long enough to make a controlled landing in the Hudson River. No passengers were killed.
