Reply to "Please help with my Holley carb."

Johnny, that is a very lean carb at idle.
Changing the main jets have relatively little effect upon the idle and therefore the transition to the main.

It is very difficult to richen the idle strength up. You could use a dual level power valve but they are difficult to get just right.

I personally like to take a filthy, dirty carb like the 750 dp (4779) and lean out the idle by increasing the idle air bleed size.

If you start to compare idle air bleed sizes on Holleys from model to model they might surprize you.

I hate to say this but the Webers are actually a lot easier to get right then a Holley carb.

The closest carb to right for the C is an aftermarket 780cfm vacuum secondary.

The air bleeds are much closer to the sizes that you are going to need to get the proper a/f ratio through the rpm range.
