Reply to "Please help with my Holley carb."

Johnny,

I agree with Mike .... I found the same eaxct problem.

90% of Holleys on the road have the accelerator pump arm with the spring attached putting pressure down on the accelerator pump. Its simple and stated very clearly in the holley book .. you need .017 play .. it needs to jiggle a little when idleing. Your not supposed to be in the accelerator circuit until about 1500 rpm ... next the power valve will also cause an issue .. get a vacumun guage at idle and see how much vacumun you have ??? then put in a power valve 1.5 to 2.0 larger .. this will give you a smooth tranition .

Brother your not alone ..I have a 600 on my car I changed to center pivot fuel bowls 68 & 72's ... I;m not crazy about that carb .. I may change it before POCONO.
