Reply to "POLL: Should political topics be allowed in Alejandro's Neighborhood Pub?"

First off, I doubt there will be 100 votes.

Second, the terms of use are quite clear. BUT:

HOW those terms of use would be used by the moderators is a question.

Does a political based/flavored joke get deleted or given a free pass as 'humor', not politics? That seems to be how a 'joke' is handled at this point.

Does an avatar picture or text get deleted for its content? What if someone complains about dead cowboy zombies with smoking guns? Big Grin

They say, whoever THEY are, that good people never discuss religion or politics in social settings.

I've always thought that was a bunch of crap, and here's why.

If something is never discussed, how is one to ever understand another's views? How is there ever going to be an educated meeting of the minds? Resolution of conflicting views never just comes out of thin air.

It comes from talks, visits, watching and understanding.

For the most part, we here on the forum seem to do a pretty good job of keeping things civil. If any one member has been the target of slings and arrows over the years, it might very well be me. I can take it, because sometimes I invite/expect it. Why? Read what I wrote above.

Exchange of ideas is not a bad thing. Exchange of hate is a bad thing.

As long as we can tread that line respective of each other's views, I see no need for change.

As Jack would say, that's my 2ยข
