Welcome, sounds like some good advice already on the problem, I like to use a length of vaccume hose and pretty much do the same as indicated with screw driver. If you determine it is a "lifter" try adding a quart of LUCAS oil additive. I to had my pantera suffering from a noisy lifter, the additive free'd it up as it was apparently sticking due to former owners not keeping up with the maintenance of the car, I have talked with other Ford owner's about this and some have had a simular experience. Also there are other problems as a result of Oil not having an important additive any longer;
