power windows

Both my windows slow noticably both up and down at about the 3/4 up position. They do go fully up and down, and the problem is more noticeable with the engine off, but it seems like they barely make it. I've noticed real old looking grease (?) on the main gears, but the wiring seems fine and I don't have the faintest idea where to start. Anyone got any ideas??
