Sort of. The Pantera came with a European radiator cap which is slightly deeper than US caps. Using a 16-lb U.S. cap means it will release at much less than 16 lbs. In addition, many bottles are rough on the bottom so the cap rubber doesn't seal well, no matter whose cap is used. My fix was to take the bottle to a radiator shop & have them cut the neck off, then solder a replacement US-made neck on. Leak goes away and you can now use any US caps. 20 years ago, this cost $10. Alternatively, all the vendors carry stainless-steel bottles that accept US caps and will never rust out, something users of modified stock bottles must consider in the future.
