Reply to "Prestone DOT 4 Synthetic?"

Hey Russ,

I think my brakes and clutch together used less than the 1 litre can of ATE Super Blue (BP = 536°, Wet BP = 388°) when I bled them last spring. Never tried the Prestone stuff. I can't remember if your brakes are standard or upgraded, but based on how often you and I were being passed in the mountains, I'd guess that you have about the same need for boil-over protection that I do, which isn't too much. Big Grin I'm pretty sure ANY brake fluid would give me adequate protection, but I like to blow money on expensive stuff (I think I've been hanging around David too long Wink) so I use the ATE. I particularly like how easy it is to see coming out the end of the bleed hoses.

Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the gang this summer, if not before.

Mark
