I just recently finished replacing the temperature sender on the front of the engine block (it had previously been relocated there from the tank). Using the advice of previous posts, I used Kragens #TS-58 and confirmed that it was working via a cup of very hot water. Unfortunately, now the car won't start. The battery is at full charge, the starter turns vigorously, and there is definitely fuel going to the carb. But...the electric choke on the Holley carb won't set and the automatic radiator fan doesn't turn on with the ignition key (it will activate using the manual switch). The only things I touched during the install were the alternator arm (I moved it out of the way to get to the sender more easily), the water temp gauge, and the sender itself. None of the fuses are blown. What could I have inadvertently reset during this process? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
