I think I'd really like to take 8MA642 back to its original color. Found an ISO color template on the Mangusta Thread on Ferrari Chat from that timeframe that might relate.

In the absence of a being able to find the color nomenclature on the car, where would be the best spot on the car to start sanding down to find the layers of color?

Somewhere along the line, someone indicated to me this might have been the 1969 Chicago Auto Show car. I found pictures on line of that show and the Mangusta, but no VIN. The color of that car happened to be an odd copper gold color. In pulling the back end of the car apart, I can see traces of such a color below the red (but then again, I might be just imagining that!!).
