pusher vs. puller fans

I am getting ready to install a set of new fans. Is there any significant cooling difference between puller and pusher fans? I want to install dual 12" FLEX-I-LITE with a one piece shroud that is rated at 2500 CFM. The pusher will fit with minor modifications The puller will need significant mods to my current Hall Phoenix radiator (which is in excellent shape so I am not ready to replace it) It will need new inlet and outlet pipes soldered on to give clearance and have the mounting brackets resoldered so that it leans forward.
