He's likely referring to a 4V open chamber head motor. Should work fine for what you have in mind, assuming it's not already bore 0.030" over. I picked one up recently that was standard bore with no ridge, had the oil pan with the baffle and scraper, 4 bolt mains, and a set of closed chamber heads (someone had swapped out the open chamber heads).
