Good question (I like ones that require searching the drawings)

and based upon SOBill's great contributions, I found the following;

it looks like the low beam indication (as called in the owners manual) is actually when the park lamps (and headlamps) are turned on.

I should now trace the full electrical wiring diagrams to be sure (but I don't feel THAT good at the moment)
