Radiator

We are resurecting a Pre-L car that's been mostly sitting for 20 years or so. About 8 years ago the last onwer had installed a big radiator and got it running briefly only to let it set until my purchase recently.

There is a small hose fitting(nipple) coming off of what I believe is the return pipe(cold side) from the radiator. It is capped. Can anyone tell me where this is supposed to go? We are trying to get this car to cool.
