radiator thermal fan switches

hi, and a belated happy easter everyone!!!!!!

when i got my vehicle, the prior owner had bypassed the radiator themal sensors and ran the radiator fans by manual switches, i decided to rewire and run the fans via thermal sensors.
i have a horizontally split radiator with a mounting hole for the sensors in the top section and in the bottom section.

question, does it matter which sensor goes where? high temp sensor in the top or bottom of the radiator??
