Rattle as clutch peddle releases

I got the transaxle out and installed a clutch kit, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. The throw out bearing is the machined version from a vendor that had the two spacers that I removed. Got everything back together; car shifts into gear fine with engine on, but as I start to release the clutch pedal off the bottom (for any gear) about 3-4 inches I hear a fairly loud rattle. I'm afraid to continue releasing the pedal to start moving for fear of something major happening.
