Hi, Espen! I'm not familiar with Mr Siple's stuff, but I see one heck of a lot of precision welding there! I'd expect a considerable weight savings. My old Lotus- Formula Ford had welded rear uprights, and they were only a little heavier than a cast magnesium one. Good thing about welded-steel is, if things go wrong while driving, they bend a little instead of breaking like cast units will.
