I used lexan or plexi when I did mine. At the moment (and for the last 5 years) I have not sealed the holes around the bars. I just cut the acrylic using the original window as a template and used the stock rubber gasket. Be careful though as the acrylic is not as chemically resistant as glass and can be damaged. Learned this the hard way. I cant remember what sprayed on it but it made a nice pattern on the acrylic.
