Reply to "rear wing aerodynamics"

I was reminded the other day of a conversation had at one time with Mike Cook about aerodynamics on the Pantera.
Hall took one of his Panteras to Bonneville and had Mike drive it.
The rules limited the car to factory stock or at most factory add ons.

The configuration of the car they ran had the fiberglass L front bumper, late model (lamborghini) "Hibatchi" grills, and the GTS chin spoiler.

Each added to the stability in their own way and this combination made the car stable to it's top speed which was something like 212 mph.

This may be the day they blew the elephant ears off of the car too? I seem to remember a picture of the drivers side scoop laying on the salt with silver duct tape on it? Should have tried the black duct tape?

Of course no one was going around turns with it but frankly even if you know of some 212mph turns, you had better drive. I'll just watch and take pictures ok? Wink

Angle of incidence sounds like a serious moving violation offense that I'd expect the NYS Police Trooper to hit me with? You can't fart in the car here either. It's a serious violation. They should only know?

You know the Police are required to have 62 college credits to apply. They tend to throw that in your face a lot.

I have the GTS spoiler on my car. What angle are you looking for? The variation from horizontal? I can put a level on it and use my trig?
