Reply to "Recommendation Glass Shop - NYC Area?"

I think the ss trim does go in AFTER the glass is installed. The flap that touches the body needs to be lifted up and clear RTV squirted in to seal off the cavity inside. Driving in rain will force moisture under, resulting in rust. The whole bottom, both sides and about a foot across the top on each side need this on every Pantera I've ever seen, or water intrusion will ultimately cause problems. The RTV cannot be inserted with the trim in place. The s-shaped insert that protrudes into the rubber gasket can easily be pushed in if you use a silicone lubricant on it before trying to insert the pieces. Also, for those who want blacked-out trim, why bother to install the trim at all? The gasket is already flat black & from 5 ft away, looks stock. I chose to put the trim on the shelf rather than spend money to duplicate the color of the gasket.
