Reply to "Removing Front Crank Seal"

The new seal is installed. I used a little bit of the red RTV on the metal sleeve to make it more fun removing for the next owner (son).

Installing the new seal was also a PITA. I found an old thread where George suggested using a piece of PCV pipe. 50 cents at Home Depot and a small block of wood and it worked great.

Is there any need for additional sealant on the crank end or keyway ?
