Those bolts were tight! The shifter is about centered, between the top of the slot for 2nd gear and the bottom of the slot for 3rd gear. Some final adjustments tonight should get it right.
As far as the stop bolt at the clutch slave, oops I forgot to tighten the large belhousing bolt that goes through the slave bracket. Maybe it's just that simple. I'll check it when I put oil back in (stripped the drain plug) and start it up. I'll adjust as necessary.
