Note that silicone rad-hoses use a special hose clamp with a small "tongue" that covers the worm-drive slot in such clamps. The silicone is so soft, it tends to extrude thru the slot when normal worm-drive clamps are tightened. And one thing silicone is NOT good at is resisting cuts. Being notch-sensitive, it unzips like a cheap plastic bag. Pegasus Racing has proper aircraft clamps for silicone hoses. Or, you must be very careful not to ever over-tighten them. This's why I like the Gates green-stripe rubber hoses.
