Wilwood, is OK, but you have to go for the higher quality series of wilwood to get acceptable lasting stopping power. Everybody who takes the effort in restoring a Pantere will take his car to the tracks someday. If You put an LS3 in your Pantera Smiler the beautifull delta wing will never save your live, your brakes do ! ( and a good fire extinguisher )
People often say that their brakes were just bold on and ready to go. In reality that is almost impossible with hubs from 1972 and it is an importand job to get them aligned the right way.
Here in Europe Wilwood is still expencive. They are the better aftermarket brakes, but they are comming realy short of the top end brakes like brembo or AP. The reason that I mentioned Performance Friction, is that they have put a realy good Calliper on the market for an reasonal price. I paid for an set complete with mounting brackets and pad's approx. 2400$. ( no discks, drilled discks are not allowd in my class. Stupid )
Most people who restore a car are not willing to invest a lot of money in things you don't see. But everbody who did can tell you that you have to take care not doing thing twice. Brakes and shocks are typical.
