For prototype ball joints we use a tube cut in half, lenght wise, that goes over the boot seal. The retaining ring will slide over the split tube over the seal. Using anouther tube push the ring down and it will snap into place. If your split tube is sized correctly it will slightly squeez the boot seal to allow some room for the ring to slide over and into the boot seal ring grove. If you need rings please contact me.
