THe motor number on the tag matches the scratched-in number on the back of the block, just below the left head & above the bellhousing. The chassis number matches nothing. However, nobody cares. The Pantera is a factory hot-rod and of the 4000+ cars in the U.S, perhaps 2% worry about this stuff. The rest are more concerned with driving the thing as much and as often as possible. To do this will require changing things from factory parts to aftermarket. There is no stigma involved in doing this, since a totally stock Pantera is middling-dangerous on today's roads.
