The 'kit' you describe is probably one done by Rick Moseley of Sacramento CA, and its primary purpose is to remove high currents from the headlight switches to prevent them from burning out. Rick's not a vendor, but a meticulous worker & offers these kits for your installation for little more than the parts cost. Try moseleya@pacbell.net for info.
