Before you chart unexplored territory with cheap wheels, please consider the notion that light racing wheels are cheap because they are designed to be used, then thrown away before they break! The Pantera community has had a rash of wheel failures over the years, mostly 3-piece types, that have resulted in accidents, wrecks and total destruction of the cars in question. The latest one was in April '02 during the 'Vegas event, at 70 mph! Most aftermarket cast wheels undergo testing to destruction to be SEMA-approved, while racing wheels do not. The Pantera vendors have done the homework required to SAFELY equip your Pantera with other-than-stock wheels, and deserve our support. Finally, consider that a running Pantera is maybe worth $25-$40,000 and is capable of easy 150 mph cruising speeds. If you must change, a set of $3000 aftermarket wheels and the absolute best tires you can find is what the car needs, IMHO. I'm not rich either, so I use four 8"x 15" Campis with Goodyear/Pirelli Z-rated tires.
