Rust removal is a tall order to fulfill. There are many ways to treat rust depending on the severity. The products you mention are fine for mild surface removal but heavier rust would need sandblasting or steel replacement.I have worked with metalprep and picklex for removing surface rust on bodypanels. The procedure is time consuming and tedious.I apply the metal prep on a 1ft square area with a rag and scrub with steel wool or a scotchbrite pad. Then wipe and reapply until there are no more visible signs of rust.It takes alot or patience and elbow grease but if you cannot sandblast the panel for fear of warpage then it is the only alternative.Actually you could acid dip the panel also.Naval jelly works on the same principal and also leaves excellent results when used properly but again it will take some work.
